Excellence – 2017 CCIM Transaction of the Year Award
Being a pioneer in 1031 exchanges, Bob Nelson would tell you they’re always complex. But the one that won him the 2017 CCIM Transaction of the Year Award was truly over the top. Starting reasonably enough with a local mobile home park with lots of owners’ equity, the transaction ended up worthy of its own book.
Bob dealt with differing investment goals in the family of owners, a desire to keep their investments reasonably local so they could self-manage, some due diligence issues related to previous tenants, and in the end architected a package of three separate investments eliminating any tax liability and offering outstanding returns.
